Date: Fri, 10/02/2015 - 10:51
Designed with the 3,600 strong MEF-CECP community in mind, Convention provides insights into the impact of major CE 2.0, LSO & Certification initiatives on achieving agile, assured, and orchestrated services
The MEF is pleased to announce that it has created a compelling agenda and speaker lineup for the annual MEF Certified Professionals Convention being held on 16 November during the GEN15 networking event at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas. At GEN15, there also will be an opportunity for industry professionals to take the MEF-CECP exam for the first time or to renew an existing MEF-CECP certification with an attractive discount.
Sponsored by Fujitsu Network Communications, the Convention is an integral part of the overall GEN15 event, which is bringing together a target audience of 1,250+ individuals from across the Carrier Ethernet and emerging Third Network services and technology ecosystem.
“We are excited to host our 2nd annual Convention, following on from the highly successful initial event at GEN14. The MEF-CECP certification program has created a very valuable community in almost 400 organizations around the world, over 200 of which are Carrier Ethernet service providers and operators,” explained Daniel Bar-Lev, Director of MEF Certification and Strategic Programs. He continued, “The expertise that is demonstrated by individuals achieving the certification is based on a rapidly evolving body of knowledge and work developed by MEF member companies. It’s very important for the community to track the latest advances at the technical level relevant for them in their responsibilities, such as network architecture and design, product management, and sales engineering.”
Although optimized for the MEF-CECP community, the Convention is open to all professionals in the Carrier Ethernet services market, including human resource and training professionals who are increasingly aware of the importance of the MEF-CECP certification to their companies, and who wish to assess the potential impact of adoption of the program. The MEF Certified Professionals Registry for MEF members shows how deeply some of the leading Carrier Ethernet service providers have implemented the program, with Level 3 Communications and Time Warner Cable accounting for more than 800 MEF certified professionals.
Key topics covered in the Convention will include:
• CE 2.0, vNIDs and VNFs in hybrid networks
• The Common Information Model
• E-Transit and E-Access services based on MEF 51
• LSO Reference Architecture and interfacing with SDN and NFV
• Evolution of CE 2.0 certification to include LSO (Lifecycle Service Orchestration)
• Upcoming MEF-C3 professional certification
• “Softwarization” and the MEF, including the GEN15 LSO Hackathon
