ANGA Cable Show and Congress: countdown to broadband summit from 26-28 may

ANGA Cable, Europe’s leading Trade Fair for Cable, Broadband and Satellite has published its congress programme at The exhibition and congress will take place in Cologne from 26-28 May 2009.
One of the highlights is the international Broadband Summit. Under the headline „Cable versus Wireless: Next Generation Competitors?“ CEOs and CTOs from five countries will discuss the effects of new wireless networks (such as LTE) on the broadband competition in Europe: Svein Erik Davidsen (Canal Digital Norway), Nick Fielibert (Cisco), Thomas Hintze (UPC Austria), David Keeley (Motorola), Martin Kull (Com Hem Sweden), Philippe Le May (Numericable France), Parm Sandhu (Unitymedia Germany) and Wim Sweldens (Alcatel-Lucent). The Broadband Summit will be presented by Julian Clover (Editorial Director Broadband TV News).
The second highlight, the Strategy Summit, will again be the floor for the top representatives of German network operators and content providers. With Thomas Braun (President ANGA Association of German Cable Operators) as the host of the event and Dr. Adrian von Hammerstein (CEO Kabel Deutschland), Parm Sandhu (CEO Unitymedia), Markus Schmid (CEO Tele Columbus), Harald Rösch (CEO Kabel Baden-Württemberg), Werner Hanf (CEO NetCologne), Ferdinand Kayser (President and CEO SES ASTRA), Jürgen Doetz (President VPRT) and Pro¬f Dr Carl-Eugen Eberle (General Counsel ZDF), there will be a first-class panel discussion on the future of broadband and Triple Play in Germany.
ANGA´s Managing Director Peter Charissé: “With 20 strategy and technology panels, we have once again upgraded the congress programme significantly. We put more broadband and IP topics on the agenda. With a focus on the analogue switch off, Quad Play, CI Plus, Video on Demand and the merging process of cable networks with DSL and fibre network operators, we are more up-to-date than ever”.
The technology panels will focus on DVB-C2, HDTV, CA/DRM, HFC, hybrid DVB/IP headends, fibre and Switched Digital Video.

New: “All Inclusive ticket“ and “technology ticket“
There are three different congress ticket categories:
1. The new and favourably priced “technology ticket“: Priced at 75.- Euros (plus VAT) this ticket is valid for attending the technology panels and visiting the exhibition.
2. The congress ticket for the full congress programme: With 150.- Euros (plus VAT) it allows free entrance to the exhibition and attending all panels.
3. The new  “All Inclusive ticket“: For 200.- Euro (plus VAT) this ticket covers three days of congress  and exhibition as well as attending the exclusive evening event ANGA Cable Night.

For the exhibition of ANGA Cable 2009, there are already binding bookings by more than 320 exhibitors from 30 countries for 90 percent of the space booked in the previous year. In 2008 12,000 trade visitors travelled to Cologne, 46 % were international.
