ShoreTel, the leading provider of brilliantly simple IP phone systems with fully integrated Unified Communications (UC), announced the expansion of voice over IP (VoIP) and UC solutions in Spain. Following successful campaigns in Italy and France earlier this year, the move to increase focus on Spain reflects ShoreTel's increasing presence among European businesses, and its continued growth and leadership in the global IP and UC marketplace.
Unlike traditional UC solution providers, ShoreTel uses a fresh approach and delivers its solutions entirely through the expertise and experience of local value-added resellers and service providers. The ShoreTel UC system is based on a distributed architecture designed for performance, reliability and manageability, and includes ergonomically designed phones, state-of-the-art switches, and feature-rich software for enterprise-class functionality at a low total cost of ownership.
"As part of our increased focus on Spain, we've been working with Spanish distributors Vordis and Diode and partner British Telecom," said Ernerst Perez-Mas, regional director for Southern Europe. "Due to the brilliant simplicity and low total cost of ownership of our solutions, ShoreTel has rapidly gained momentum in the IP communications market, and is one of fastest growing UC providers in the world. We are looking forward to expanding our network in Spain so that organizations can take advantage of our advanced technology and business benefits, including the system's high availability, scalability and ease of management."
For the 2009 fiscal year, ShoreTel's worldwide revenue reached a company record of $134.8 million, an increase of five percent compared to fiscal year 2008 revenue of $128.7 million. In Europe, ShoreTel has in excess of 100 partners, has increased its headcount by 50 per cent year over year, and continues to invest in the European market.
"Very few technology companies have been able to grow revenue during what is arguably the worst economy in recent history," said Mark Swendsen, managing director for ShoreTel in EMEA. "ShoreTel's continued annual revenue growth and market share growth clearly demonstrate our ability to sustain growth despite the weak economic environment. In addition, we've achieved the highest levels of customer satisfaction in ShoreTel's history this year. With Europe as a key growth market for us we've got a great line-up of distributors and partners in Spain to deliver key solutions to the region."
ShoreTel is renowned for its commitment to customer satisfaction and has been named Best VoIP Provider for five years in a row by independent industry research firm, Nemertes Research.
