Winners at NetEvents 'Technology Leader' European 2009 Awards

Genband, Ixia, ConSentry, Akamai and Fulcrum Microsystems win NetEvents 'Technology Leader' European 2009 Awards winners announced in aid of Cancer Research
Five companies received their NetEvents 'Technology Leader' European 2009 Awards at the NetEvents European Press & Analyst Spotlight 2009 event held in the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Barcelona.
This year's awards for business and technological achievement were presented by NetEvents Editorial Director, Manek Dubash, at the conference.
The entire proceeds of the monies generated by the 2009 awards will be donated to the Association for International Cancer Research.
According to an independent panel of senior press and analyst representatives from over 30 technology publications, Fulcrum Microsystems was named the Most Innovative Technology Company. Presenting the award, Guy Kindermans, Senior Staff Editor of Datanews, Belgium said: "This company won because of its highly sophisticated combination of software and silicon implementation. It was a truly worthy winner."
The NetEvents Product of the Year 2009 award winners were as follows:
Security Product of the Year: ConSentry Networks for LANShield Controller and LANShield Switch. In presenting the award, Thierry Outrebon, Editor, Windows News, France said: "The obvious choice was ConSentry, because Chief Security Officers spend their lives working on patching and management, so ConSentry's combination of management and security was a winning product strategy."
Enterprise Networking Product of the Year: Akamai for IP Application Accelerator (IPA) service. To present the award, Peter Judge, UK editor of eWeek Europe, said: "As web-ready content becomes more critical, Akamai's key role in delivering content where and when users need it is assured."
Telecoms Infrastructure Product of the Year: Genband for G2 Compact Gateway™. To present the award, Steve Broadhead, Founder & Director of Broadband Testing Labs said: "It was good to see a company with a working technology that's deliverable right now and that's truly cost-effective."
Most Innovative Test & Measurement Application of the Year: Ixia for 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) Development Accelerator System (DAS). Judge and award presenter Jan Guldentops, Analyst of BA Test Labs Benelux, said: "This is the ultimate traffic generating box. It's the ideal solution if you have to build real world networks in multiple gigabit situations."
