Kabira Technologies, a global expert in memory-based transactional computing, announced that the company highlighted the latest developments in its industry leading real-time Kabira Mobile Transaction Hub™ (KMTH) mobile payment solution, at this year’s GSMA Mobile Money Summit, the European-based event dedicated to the convergence of financial and mobile services.
The GSMA Mobile Money Summit 2009 focused on what is new in the mobile money ecosystem and will expose attendees to successful strategies, new ideas, and key data that can be used to help develop business cases. Mobile money is becoming a mainstream business, and this year’s Summit will highlight the realities behind current business models and existing deployments, as well as examine what needs adjusting as the industry moves forward.
Eric Carlier, head of the mobile payments domain for Kabira, comments, “We are extremely pleased to be part of the GSMA Mobile Money Summit, as we believe Kabira is well positioned to help operators deploy extremely efficient, highly-reliable, secure and innovative monetized services. This is due to the significant expertise and assets we have developed working with our industry leading customers in both telecom and credit card processing. 2009 and 2010 are especially exciting for us since we believe these are the years in which convergence between mobile communications and banking will grow substantially.”
The KMTH solution is an open and robust real-time payment transaction processing platform that allows telecom carriers, banks and service providers that serve the unbanked and under-banked to offer a wide range of mobile payment services to their subscribers. These services include mobile airtime and money services, such as airtime recharges, money transfers and bill payments.
In 2008, Kabira's solutions managed over 700 million telecom subscribers and serviced over 15 billion card payments worldwide. Designed to meet the demands of real-time telecom business applications, Kabira's service-aware solutions are designed to provide the infrastructure capabilities required to respond to the business and technical challenges faced by mobile operators as they need to create, activate, charge and transact convergent services in real-time.
