Displaying its products at the Ethernet Expo, IMC Networks, a privately-held manufacturer of optical access and media conversion solutions for LAN, MAN, and FTTx applications for Enterprise, government and service providers has been delivering FTTx products since 1999
Celebrating 10 years in the making of FTTx solutions, IMC Networks continues its innovative history by introducing breakthrough products for this emerging market. Marking the industry's first-to-market FTTx and optical access technology products were IMC Networks' iMcV-FiberLinX, introduced in 1999, followed by the AccessEtherLinX in 2002, the IE-MiniFiberLinX-II in 2006, and the iMcV-FiberLinX-II in 2007, respectively.
Brendan Mullooly, Director of Operations, EMEA states, "Shipping since 1999, IMC's FiberLinX media converters have been installed worldwide, making them field-proven in fiber-to-the-premise, optical Ethernet, and campus network applications worldwide". According to Point Topic Research, "There will be four million UK homes within reach of fiber by 2013". These numbers and other market data provide much opportunity for IMC Networks to expand its FTTx product range.
Today, with newer versions made available, including the iMcV-Giga-FiberLinX-II Series and AccessEtherLinX/4 optical demarcation devices, important features and options like 10/100/1000 Ethernet CPE, VLAN, Q-in-Q, 802.3 and SNMP, rate limiting, and extended temperature, support a wide variety of customer applications that are deployed by major international TELCOs, ISPs, and utility operators. The iMcV-FiberLinX-II and iMcV-Giga-FiberLinX-II Series are MEF certified.
