alike can protect access to high value content, enable secure sharing of content across multiple devices, brand their user experience across multiple platforms in innovative ways, and engage viewers over multiple screens.
“Whether on smart phones, connected TVs, PCs, or tablets, consumers today have come to expect multiscreen capabilities from their service provider,” said Holger Ippach, SVP Sales NCE at Nagra.
“More than just hype, multiscreen television has today become a reality. At ANGA 2011, we will be presenting key solutions that can help operators distribute their content across multiple devices and bring these advanced services to market.”
Key themes of Nagra’s showcase will include “anytime, anywhere TV” as well as advanced set-top box and removable security solutions. Visitors will experience Nagra’s multiscreen solution which enables service providers to securely deliver content to multiple devices and seamlessly combine multiple content sources. Thanks to an innovative user interface, secure player and award-winning persistent rights management solution, subscribers can consume their favorite content wherever, whenever and on any screen.
“To enable a true multi-device ecosystem it is essential to allow DTV service providers to securely deliver high-value content to multiple open CE devices with minimal additional investment,” adds Holger Ippach. “A growing numbers of pay-TV service providers are deploying over-the-top services on existing devices and chipsets utilising Nagra content protection solutions and delivering secure content to devices such as PCs and tablets. Our ANGA showcase will feature these highlights and much more.”
A dditionally on display will be some of Nagra’s latest set-top box solutions developed for European customers, including the Nagra-secured HD+ box. Service providers will also be able to see how they can successfully leverage the CE retail market to enrich their device offering through SmarDTV’s suite of removable security solutions that are market proven in major deployments. SmarDTV will demonstrate its recently introduced SmarCAM, designed for German cable networks. Based on the broadly deployed SmarCAM-3 CI Plus platform, this CA Module ensures the highest level of interoperability with iDTVs and STBs. SmarDTV will also present a SmarCAM that provides access to Cable VOD services. Based on the latest CI Plus specifications, this will be the very first public demonstration of a CI Plus MHEG application making use of HD graphics for the user interface.
