After the grand success of INDIA TELECOM 2008, Department of Telecommunications (DOT), Govt. of India jointly with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is glad to announce the 4th edition of INDIA TELECOM 2009 from December 3 – 5, 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi
3rd edition of India Telecom, ie. INDIA TELECOM 2008, with theme “Connecting Rural India” was held at New Delhi from 11th – 13th December and was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh along with the Hon’ble Minister of Telecommunications & Information Technology, Thiru A. Raja and Hon’ble Minister of State for Telecommunications & Information Technology, Shri. Joyitraditya Scindia. The inaugural function also marked the launch of 3G mobile services of MTNL in India opening doors to several business opportunities in the Indian Telecom market. The event had huge participation from over 250 companies, represented by 28 countries, attracting 17,114 attendees from 54 countries.
The two-day conference had participation from over 50 International and National Speakers and was well attended by 500 Delegates (International & National). The program, discussed new growth drivers that are revolutionizing the telecom sector in India and around the world and focused on opportunities and challenges in providing seamless connectivity to rural India. The conference with the focus on ‘Connecting Rural India’ had various theme based sessions on Economic & Social Development in Rural India, Broadband for All, Strategy & New Business Approaches, Value Added Services & Content Management and Regulatory & Policy Environment.
